COM Requirements

Customers Own Material

All estimate yardage requirements including those in our pricelist, are based on a solid color 54” wide fabric that is free from defects. Yardage requirements are significantly effected by the size of the repeat, as well as the print or pattern. Please use the following chart as a guide in determining the amount of COM yardage which will be required. This chart is provided as a guide and proves to be accurae for most COM yardage requirements. If your fabric has an irregular layout or may require a different method of cutting, additional yardage may be required.

Fabric Allowance

54" Fabrics:

  • Plain Fabric: +0%
  • 2"-10" Repeat: +15%
  • 11"-20" Repeat: +25%
  • 21"-30" Repeat: +35%
  • 31"-40" Repeat: +45%

Please specify whether the fabric direction is railroaded or up the roll. This is critical to ensure that proper yardage is ordered, thus avoiding possible production delays and additional cost.

Please mark on the outside of of the fabric package the buyer’s name, purchase order number, style number and acknowledgement number, if available, COM orders will not be scheduled for production until fabric is received by factory. Brookline Furniture will use its best judgement in applying COM fabric if specific application instructions are not included with the order. Brookline Furniture cannot be held responsible for any fabric defects, color variations or any other flaws in COM fabrics. We suggest you inspect any fabrics before shipping them to our factory. Brookline Furniture assumes no responsibility for the flame retardancy of fabrics, and the customer is solely responsible for making sure COM fabrics comply with all regulations and applicable fire codes.
